Did Jesus (Peace be upon him) ever ask to be worshiped?

Exploring the words and actions of Jesus (Peace be upon him) from historical sources.

Many believe that Jesus (Peace be upon him) claimed divinity and demanded worship. But if we look carefully at the historical texts, a different picture emerges.

Jesus (Peace be upon him) consistently referred to God as His Lord, prayed to Him, and encouraged people to follow God’s guidance rather than his own personal will.

What the Gospels actually say

“I can do nothing on my own; I speak just what the Father taught me.”

– John 8:28

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

– Luke 22:42

“Why do you call me good? Only God is truly good.”

– Mark 10:18

These statements show humility, submission, and recognition of God’s authority. Jesus points to God as the one who deserves worship, not himself.

How he lived his message

These actions reinforce that Jesus’ focus was on God, not on elevating himself.

If Jesus (Peace be upon him) consistently pointed to God as the one to follow and never demanded worship, how does that affect your understanding of his role in faith?
